Immigration Attorney Jamal Jbara

Representation in New York and across
the United States

A graduate of the Rutgers Law School, in Newark, New Jersey, attorney Jamal Jbara has provided comprehensive and compassionate legal counsel to people in need of immigration and naturalization assistance since 1998. Licensed to practice immigration and naturalization law in all 50 states and with offices in Long Island City, New York, Mr. Jbara has helped thousands of clients successfully navigate the American immigration system.

Born in Puerto Rico to a Palestinian father and Colombian mother, Mr. Jbara understands the language and cultural barriers that often interfere with an immigrant’s access to a decent job, safe and affordable housing, and a good education. He has witnessed firsthand how those barriers can make an immigrant vulnerable to abuse, including exploitation by employers, public notaries, and attorneys. He has also seen many immigrants denied their basic human rights by public agencies and the courts.

A first-generation Latino/Arab-American, Mr. Jbara received a number of prestigious public service fellowship awards and scholarships while at Rutgers, including the Arthur Kinoy and Morton Stavis Public Interest Law Fellowship, the New York University School of Law Revson Public Interest Fellowship, and a scholarship from the Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund (LatinoJustice PRLDEF).
